The driver of a car that crashed in Caerphilly town centre was told to ‘come back Saturday’ when he handed himself into police.
The crash happened at around 11.30pm on Sunday, December 1, outside Caerphilly Municipal Club.
Speaking to Caerphilly Observer an eyewitness to the crash spoke of her shock.
The woman, who did not want to be named, told Caerphilly Observer how she saw the white Nissan Juke speed along Brynau Road and crash into a telegraph pole outside the club on North View Terrace.

It happened before the junction with Market Street in Caerphilly town centre.
The impact of the crash brought down a telegraph pole and power lines.
The witness said: “Two minutes earlier and it could’ve been us. Ten minutes earlier and people were coming out of the Muni.
“It was lucky no-one was killed.”
The driver of the car got out and ran off. Caerphilly Observer understands the driver may have been drunk.
A source told this newspaper that the driver handed himself in at Bedwas Police station a few days after the crash only to be told to come back on Saturday, December 7, as the investigating officer was off duty until then.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman confirmed a man attended Bedwas Police station in connection with the crash.
She confirmed that he was told to come back on Saturday and that this was standard procedure for when an investigating officer is unavailable.
She also confirmed the man left all of his details with officers.
