Musicians Maddie Jones and Dan Fitzgerald

Two musicians are hoping to “cheer people up” by performing live music gigs online during the coronavirus outbreak.

Dan Fitzgerald and Maddie Jones will be taking song requests and live streaming through Facebook.

The couple are hoping to spread some joy while the public is under strict orders to stay indoors to combat the spread of Covid-19.

Dan, who is originally from Risca, has run Caerphilly-based social enterprise RecRock for seven years.

He said: “Weddings have been cancelled and people have been losing their jobs – it’s really difficult at the moment.

“We’re trying to keep ourselves sane. We can’t do gigs anymore so we’re using music to try and cheer people up.”
