Children and adults alike across Caerphilly County Borough have been raising spirits during the coronavirus pandemic by decorating their windows with rainbows.

The trend, which has gained popularity on social media, made its way to Caerphilly after the government urged everyone in the UK to stay indoors, unless absolutely necessary. to stop the spread of the virus.

Rudry mum Rachel Ridge, whose children Connie, 6, and Tilly, 4, are off school due to the pandemic and taking part in the craze, said: “We’re trying to cheer people up. The idea behind it is showing hope.

“It’s something positive in all the darkness. People aren’t supposed to be interacting, so it shows hope and solidarity in a difficult time.”

Caerphilly Observer appealed to readers to send in their pictures, and we weren’t disappointed.
