Darts star Gerwyn Price won his second title in 24 hours after he beat Krzysztof Ratajski in the Day Five final of the PDC Autumn Series on Wednesday night (September 16).

Price, 35, from Markham, beat ‘The Polish Eagle’ Ratajski 8-5 in Neidernhausen, Germany, to clinch his 13th PDC title as the Autumn Series drew to a close.

On Tuesday night (September 15), Price beat South Africa’s Devon Petersen in the Day Four final.

Gerwyn Price misses out on semi-finals despite emphatic win

Price, who is ranked third on the PDC (Professional Darts Corportation) order of merit, averaged 104 across six wins throughout the day, which saw him finish the Autumn Series at the top of the ranking.

Price began Wednesday with wins over Vincent van der Voort, Madars Razma and Chris Dobey, before a 6-5 win over James Wade saw the Iceman reach the semi-finals.

There, Price booked his place in the final after a 7-3 win over Portugal’s Jose De Sousa, who knocked world number one Michael van Gerwen out of the competition in the previous round.

Having clinched victory in the final, the Iceman’s focus will now turn towards the World Series of Darts finals, which will be held this weekend in Salzburg, Austria.

After beating Ratajski, Price said: “Winning yesterday put me at ease today. There was less pressure, I was already happy with my week’s work.

“With the pressure off it shows the kind of game I can play. I played brilliant all day. The final was my worst game but I got over the line.

“I’m in a good place right now. I believe that my A-game is better than anybody else’s.

“I’m going into the World Series finals with confidence and I’m looking forward to playing in front of a crowd again.”
