The collision happened just before 7am on Tuesday, October 26, on Southend Terrace in Pontlottyn.

As well as the 52-year-old man, there were two other people in the car – a black Vauxhall Astra – at the time of the incident.

However, Gwent Police said the two other people left the scene.

The car was travelling towards Bargoed at the time of the collision.
