An animal charity campaign which is set to bring Snoopy sculptures to Caerphilly this spring has been delayed by two weeks.
Originally, the sculptures, were meant to be put up on March 25 this year, but will instead be coming on April 8.
The statues, inspired by the iconic Peanuts comic strip character Snoopy, will be in place until June 5.
They will be located at Caerphilly railway station, Cardiff Road, Dafydd Williams Park, Crescent Road, Morgan Jones Park and Castle Court Shopping Centre.
Each sculpture will be sponsored by a business or individual, and will be auctioned after the campaign to raise further funds for Dog’s Trust.
There will also be Snoopy sculptures in Cardiff and Porthcawl.
A spokesperson for Dogs Trust said: “The ongoing coronavirus restrictions in Wales have made some of the operational and logistical planning aspects of the trail a challenge.
“To ensure that we’re ready to welcome visitors to the trail in the spring and it’s as fun and enjoyable as it can be for everyone, we felt this was the best thing to do.
“Delaying the launch by two weeks means we can maximize the opportunities for it to be a successful event and coincide the opening of the trail with the school Easter holidays, giving families the perfect reason to get out and explore south Wales, as well as raise pounds for the hounds in Dogs Trust’s care.”
The charity also appealed for anyone interested in sponsoring a sculpture to get in touch by visiting adogstrail.org.uk/sponsors.
