A rugby league club is hoping to build on recent successes by recruiting new players ready for the upcoming season.

After success across its age groups last year, Aber Valley Wolves are looking for new recruits to help continue the club’s growth.

The club has now been running for more than a decade. Playing their home games in Penyrheol Park, Caerphilly, the club has seen a huge influx of new players over the past few years.

This season, the club has introduced an Under-16 Girls team and is looking for new players. The club is also looking for players for its adult women’s team and its adult men’s side, as well as the U18 men’s team.

However, no experience is needed to join the club, with the focus firmly on enjoyment and player development.

Despite enjoyment being the priority for Aber Valley Wolves, success has quickly followed with multiple age groups picking up silverware. The U10s side and U12s side both went unbeaten to become Grand Final Champions, while the U15s team also became Grand Final Champions.

The club’s General Manager, Helen Treherne, said: “The future is bright for Aber Valley Wolves with its fantastic players, parents, coaches and sponsors.

“The pathway for rugby league in Wales is ever clearer. Partnerships are being formed by Welsh Rugby League, such as the successful partnership with Coleg y Cymoedd and Salford Red Devils, and the sport is becoming more and more popular in Wales.”

Ms Treherne added: “Whether our players want to strive for international honours, or just want to play for fun, the club and its coaches are very proud of each and every one of them.”
