Police are investigating the death of a man after he was found unresponsive outside a property in Rhymney.

In a statement, Gwent Police said: “We were called to an address in Phillips Walk, Rhymney at around 9.25pm on Sunday 13 March after a man was found unresponsive outside a property.

“Officers attended along with paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service who confirmed that a man had died. Formal identification has not yet taken place to identify him.

“We’re currently treating the death as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances around his death.

“The cause of death is yet to be established and a post-mortem examination will take place.”

Police have cordoned-off a property in Rowan Place as part of the investigation.
