Investigation continues into death of man outside Rhymney property

A 58-year-old man died after being found unresponsive in Rhymney

An investigation into the death of a 58-year-old man who was found unresponsive in Rhymney is still ongoing, Gwent Police has said.

The man was found outside a property on Phillips Walk at around 9.25pm on Sunday, March 13.

A 35-year-old man from Rhymney was arrested in connection with the death, but has been released on conditional bail.

Gwent Police said the 58-year-old’s next of kin have been informed and are “receiving support from officers”.

In a statement, the police said: “We’re currently treating the death as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances around his death.

“The cause of death is yet to be established although a post-mortem examination has taken place.”
