A budding actor from Llanbradach will be making his television debut this evening on BBC2.

Billy Newton, 11, a student at the Mark Jermin Stage School, will be starring alongside the League of Gentleman’s Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton in episode two of the new series of Inside No 9.

The show will be broadcast at 10pm and will also be available on iPlayer.

Cardinal Newman pupil Billy, who is also a talented winger for Caerphilly RFC, is hoping his TV appreance will lead to more opportunites on stage and screen.

He said: “I love acting and I’ve been going to stage school since I was five.

“I have been really lucky to get to film for TV, be on stage at the millennium centre, music videos and a feature film. I’m going to keep working hard and see what happens in the future.”
