More than 1,000 cannabis plants worth around half a million pounds have been seized by police in Aberbargoed.

The farm, which was discovered on Bowen Industrial Estate and spanned two storeys, was raided by police at around 1.40pm on Wednesday, June 29.

Gwent Police’s Lysha Thompson, who is the Neighbourhood Policing Inspector for the north of Caerphilly, described the discovery as a “significant commercial operation”.

She continued: “Our investigation to identify those responsible is currently ongoing, and you may see more of our officers in the area as we carry out our enquiries. If you have any information that you think may help, or have any concerns you wish to discuss, please do stop and talk to our officers.
