Trecenydd woman charged with murder after man found dead in Elliots Town

A 31-year-old woman from Trecenydd has been charged with murder after a 57-year-old man was found dead at a property in Elliots Town, near New Tredegar.

The woman has also been charged with assault. She is due to appear before Newport Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning, Wednesday, July 20.

In a statement, Gwent Police said they were called to the address at around 12.30am after a man was found unresponsive.

The statement continued: “Officers attended along with paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service, who confirmed that a 57-year-old man had died.

“His next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers.”
