Teenager remanded in custody after drugs raid

A 19-year-old man has been remanded in custody after he was charged with intent to supply crack cocaine and intent to supply cocaine.

George Medcraft, of Cwarrau Mawr Farm Lane, Penyrheol, was arrested after a police raid on a property in the Caerphilly area on Tuesday, August 9.

He appeared before Newport Magistrates’ Court the following day and was remanded in custody to appear before Newport Crown Court on September 7.

As part of Gwent Police’s Operation Adelaide, a raid also took place at an address in Cardiff on Tuesday, August 9.

Nathan Parsons, 19, from Llanishen, Cardiff, was arrested and charged with intent to supply cannabis, and intent to supply cocaine. He was also also remanded in custody until an appearance at crown court in September.

PC Rhys Jones, who led the operation said: “We’re committed to protecting people from exploitation and the devastating impact illegal drugs can have on our communities.

“The support of the public is vital to this work and I would continue to urge people to let us know of any suspicious or unusual activity in their area so we can take action.
