Plans to turn a former café in Senghenydd into a two-bedroom flat have been approved by Caerphilly County Borough Council.
The mid-terraced property at 3 High Street, used to house Deb’s Café, which has been closed for more than five years.
Planning permission for the change was granted by council planning officers.
The officer’s report states: “It is considered that the proposed development in terms of its materials, design and scale will not give rise to any adverse impacts upon the character of the existing building or the existing character of Senghenydd village centre.”
In April this year, a similar planning application to change the café into a flat was refused on the grounds that it was “an unsatisfactory living environment for any future occupiers” due to a lack of windows in the rooms.
All of the rooms in the approved application have windows.
