Maxime Cinema on Blackwood High Street will be livestreaming the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday September 19, free of charge.

From 10am on Monday, doors will be open to the public ahead of the event getting underway from 11am.

Steven Reynolds MBE, director of Maxime Cinema owners Picturedrome, spoke about why he felt the need to stream the event: “We thought it was a nice gesture.

“It’ll give people, perhaps people that live on their own, the chance to come together and mark this once in a lifetime occasion.”

Tickets are limited, and can be collected over the counter at the cinema free of charge.

Steve concluded: “We don’t know how many people will turn up, but we think that out of respect it is the right thing to do.”
