A man has been arrested following an armed robbery in Trecenydd Business Park on Thursday.

The 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and is currently in police custody, Gwent Police has confirmed.

Police were called at around 10.40am and attended alongside the National Police Air Service and firearms officers as a precaution.

The incident happened at Rogers Estates Coffee, with three men entering the property armed with knives.

No injuries have been reported and nothing appears to have been stolen, police have said.

Calvin Rowe, managing director of the company, confirmed to Caerphilly Observer that no-one was injured but did not want to comment further.

Police also knocked on doors in Brookside Close, near Hendredenny, on Thursday and have since confirmed this was related to the incident.

Police have said enquiries are ongoing.

Police were also at Caerphilly Business Park, near Van Road, on Thursday morning – but this was not related to events in Trecenydd.
