Twenty-one kickboxing and karate students from Caerphilly and Merthyr will form part of Wales’ 85-strong team at the WKU World Championships this month.
The competition, which is being held at the Wales National Sports Centre, Cardiff, takes place between October 24 and October 29.
The WCKA Caerphilly and Merthyr Club includes students ranging from seven-years-old, up to adults, and is coached by Steve Bevan – a fifth degree black belt.
The competition will see fighters take part in various individual and team kickboxing categories.
The championship’s opening ceremony is taking place at Cardiff Castle on Monday, October 24, with competitors from more than 30 countries taking part in the event.
Spectators can attend each day of the championships and can pay upon entry.
Based at Trecenydd Community Centre in Caerphilly, the club trains on Thursday and Friday evenings.
Anyone who is interested in joining the club can contact Steve Bevan on 07950 541524.
