The former Sirhowy Arms in Argoed is now known as Meadow View

The former bed and breakfast in Argoed where a young woman was brutally killed has been sold for £270,000 at auction.

In November, 2014, 22-year-old Cerys Yemm was murdered by Matthew Williams, who also died at the scene after being tasered by police officers.

The Sirhowy Arms, as it was then known, has since been transformed into a dethatched nine-bedroom house and was sold recently by Paul Fosh Auctions.

The property was originally listed with a guide price of between £250,000 and £308,000.

A trio of bidders competed to secure the property, now known as Meadow View.

Angie Davey, of Newport-based Paul Fosh Auctions, said: “The new owners, successful at the auction, have bagged a whole lot of property for their money.”
