Police appeal after man, 79, attacked in Blackwood High Street

Police are investigating after a 79-year-old man was attacked in Blackwood High Street.

The unnamed man was taken to hospital and is described as being in a “stable” condition by Gwent Police.

The attack happened at around 3pm on Thursday, December 29.

Officers arrested a 35-year-old man from the Cardiff area on suspicion of assault. He has since been released on conditional bail.
