People are finding small gifts hidden in and around Bargoed after one resident’s attempt to spread cheer on Random Acts of Kindness Day.
Free sparkly bows have been found in places such as Bargoed park with people taking to Facebook to thank the mysterious stranger who wanted to spread a little joy.
The bows were made and hidden by Bargoed resident Abi Grimshaw, who was inspired by Random Acts of Kindness Day, which aims to “make kindness the norm” and took place on February 17.
Craft fan Abi spoke Caerphilly Observer about her motives and said: “Last week I read that it was Random Acts of Kindness Day.
“[Me] and my eldest daughter thought to make some bows and hide them in our local area.
“It has been uplifting to see many lovely posts and happy children who have found them.”
Abi was joined by her two daughters, Sophia, 7, and Isabella, 2 and her niece, Olivia, 8, who helped to hide the bows.
In the public Facebook group Totally Bargoed, one member who found a bow wrote: “Was walking down Heolddu Road today and my daughter found a bow on a wall.
“She is very happy so whoever did it, thank you – you made a little girl happy.”
Another member wrote: “Today on our walk through Bargoed Park my little one was so happy to find this pretty bow, thank you so much to whoever is spreading smiles.”
