More than 8,000 visitors flocked to Ystrad Mynach for the town’s annual spring fair last weekend.

The fair, which was held on Bedwlwyn Road and Oakfield Street on Saturday March 25, brought with it a range of food and craft stalls, children’s funfair rides and street theatre entertainment.

In total, there were 8,247 visitors to the town centre throughout the day, with a peak of more than 1,300 people in the town at 1pm.

In comparison, there were 6,511 more visitors in town compared to the previous Saturday, according to event organisers Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Council deputy leader Jamie Pritchard said: “Another busy event and positive business feedback. The residents really came out in numbers once again.

“More events, with an emphasis on driving people to town centres, will help to support the business community. Can I thank everyone for their support”.

A Spring fair was also held in Blackwood this spring

Caerphilly Food Festival will be held in Caerphilly town centre on Saturday April 29, with Bargoed May Fair being held on Saturday May 13.
