A 28-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with manslaughter following the death of 27-year-old Benjamin Lloyd.
Jay Webster, of Caerphilly Road, Senghenydd, appeared in Newport Magistrates’ on Wednesday April 5.
No plea was given.
Webster will appear at Newport Crown Court on Wednesday May 3.
Mr Lloyd was found unresponsive at an address on Cefn Ilan Road, Abertridwr, at around 9.45am on Sunday April 2.
Mr Lloyd’s family described him as “one of life’s true gentlemen” in a tribute issued through Gwent Police.
