A host of free events and activities will be held in the Darran Valley to celebrate the King’s Coronation in May.
The events, which have been organised by Darran Valley Community Council, will take place in both Fochriw and Deri on Saturday May 6 – the day of the coronation – and Sunday May 7.
Funding was allocated for the event by Darran Valley Community Council, with £500 allocated to both Deri Community Centre and Focrhiw Community Centr, which will host the events.
Speaking at the Darran Valley Community Council meeting on April 5, Cllr Duncan Johnson spoke about the Fochriw event and said: “Everyone’s invited. There’s something on for all age groups.”
There will be a disco and food at Fochriw Community Centre on May 6 from 1pm to 5pm.
Meanwhile, there will be drinks, a buffet, a mini-bar and a bouncy castle at Deri Community Centre on May 7 from 3pm.
