The repair work is to replace three faulty steel deck plates

A footbridge in Pontlottyn will be closed for four days as emergency repair work is done.

The footbridge and cycle track, which allows pedestrian access to Idris Davies School, will be closed for a maximum of four days from May 31.

Caerphilly County Borough Council are set to replace three faulty steel deck plates – at a cost of £7,280, before VAT.

A spokesperson for Caerphilly County Borough Council said: “These works are being carried out during half term as the footbridge provides pupils pedestrian access to Idris Davies School.

“Apologies for the inconvenience.”

A pedestrian diversion is in place until the work is completed.
