The winners of the Sport Caerphilly Awards 2022

Nominations are now open for this year’s Sport Caerphilly Awards.

The annual award ceremony recognises the achievements of Caerphilly County Borough’s sportsmen and women.

Nominations close on July 28.

What categories are there?
  • Young Volunteer of the Year (Under-18)
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Inclusive Coach of the Year
  • Community Coach of the Year
  • Club of the Year
  • Lifetime Achievement to Sport

The awards are organised by Sport Caerphilly, which is run by Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Last year’s awards, which were held at Bryn Meadows in Maesycwmmer, saw boxer Lauren Price win the sport personality of the year award.

Caerphilly Tennis Club and its coach Jonathan Morgan were also among the winners, alongside Emma Chalk and William Phillips of Blackwood Cricket Club.

Other award winners on the night were Claire Chetland, Gareth Davis and David Gardiner – who all received a Lifetime Achievement award.
