Music events are taking place across the borough on June 21

Caerphilly residents are invited to come and make music at a range of free borough-wide events to celebrate World Music Day this month.

Caerphilly County Borough’s music and library services are hosting three events on Wednesday June 21.

A wind band performance and ukulele and recorder workshops will take place in Risca, Caerphilly and Bargoed libraries.

Caerphilly County Wind Band Ensemble will be performing a concert of well-known pieces in Caerphilly Library from 11.30am.

At the same time, a recorded workshop suitable for beginners and adults who have previously played the instrument will be taking place at Bargoed Library.

Then, at 2pm there will be a ukulele workshop for beginners in Risca Library.

Both workshops will be led by a Caerphilly Music Service Tutor and instruments will be provided, though participants are also free to bring their own.
