A criminal who was wanted back behind bars following his release from prison has now been arrested, Gwent Police has confirmed.

Christian Ambrosen, 33, from Ystrad Mynach, was released from prison in July, under licence.

However, in an appeal launched on Wednesday September 6 – reported on by Caerphilly Observer – Gwent Police said he had since breached his licence conditions – and had been recalled to prison.

Gwent Police does not disclose what the licence conditions were, or what conditions have been broken.

Ambrosen was handed a 60-week sentence for grievous bodily harm at Cardiff Crown Court back in August 2020.

In an update posted on social media, Gwent Police confirmed Ambrosen had been located and arrested and thanked those who had shared their appeal.
