Caerphilly County Borough Council has fixed the signage in Machen, which previously showed contrasting speed limits on each end of the village.
Residents on social media had criticised the council for only erecting a 20mph sign on one end of the village, but leaving a 30mph sign up on the other.
Steve Aicheler, a Liberal Democrat community councillor in Bedwas, Trethomas, and Machen, said the confusion was “putting lives at risk”.
The speed limit through Machen changed to 20mph on September 17 as part of the national rollout.
Labour councillor for Machen and Rudry, Amanda McConnell, has since told Caerphilly Observer that the situation has been resolved, and there is now the correct 20mph sign in place when entering Machen from Newport.
