Over the past year, Phoenix Ladies has raised £1,000 for The Parish Trust, based in Trethomas, and Cancer Research Wales.

Founded more than 50 years ago, originally by a group of business owners, Phoenix Ladies’ main aim is to raise funds for charitable causes.

Now boasting 57 members, the group meets once a month at the Twyn Community Centre, Caerphilly, where members regularly bring non-perishable items to donate to the Parish Trust’s food bank.

Although the charitable organisations it will support through donations has yet to be chosen, the group will still be collecting food donations for Parish Trust.
