A church in Deri could be converted into a four-bedroom house, new plans show.

Applicant Nick Collier has lodged a request for planning permission with Caerphilly Council, to redevelop the Ysgwydd Gwyn Presbyterian Church in Bailey Street.

The interior of the church could undergo a radical transformation, according to the proposals.

Set over three storeys, the proposed house would include four bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor, as well as a kitchen, lounge and media room on the ground floor.

Plans show the lower ground floor would include another lounge and bathroom.

According to documents submitted to the council’s planning department, external alterations could include repurposing some of the rear of the property for car parking.

The application is currently out for public consultation, and can be viewed on the Caerphilly County Borough Council website under reference 24/0340/COU.
