Risca beach party ran from Saturday June 8 to Sunday June 9
Risca beach party ran from Saturday June 8 to Sunday June 9

More than 6,000 people descended on Risca town centre over the weekend to visit its third annual beach party.

Families enjoyed the beach, attractions, and funfair rides, as well as the Punch and Judy and pirate shows.

All cake stands at the Beach Party sold out on both days. Risca Fish Bar had a queue down the street on Saturday, and the Snug Coffee Shop opposite the park also had a sell-out.

Mid Wales Ghostbusters, who were at the event, said: “A big, big thank you for this weekend and for allowing us to host our Ghostbusters Day Celebration Event. It was a great success and very popular.”

The free-to-enter event was organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council.
