Part of a house in Abertridwr can be converted into a home beauty salon, council planners have decided.

Applicant Elisabeth Jarvis has proposed converting a side extension on the Cae-Bryn home into a “beauty room”.

Caerphilly County Borough Council planning officers judged the change of use would have “no unacceptable impact on the amenity of adjacent properties or land”.

But the council said the hours of the salon should be limited to 10am to 4pm on weekdays, and the salon should not open on weekends or bank holidays.

These limits would “alleviate any concerns of increased activity during hours where there is reduced sunlight, as well as on weekends, when there is more activity”, the planners said.

No neighbours objected to Ms Jarvis’ proposals during a recent public consultation on the plans.

The proposed business must also operate “on an appointment-only basis”, the council planners said.
