Drugs, cash, mobile phones, and a weapon have been seized by police following a series of early morning raids in Caerphilly and Newport.
Gwent Police officers raided five properties – four in Caerphilly – at around 5am on Tuesday January 21.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences, with the raids forming part of an investigation into a suspected organised crime group operating in the area.
A 21-year-old man from Graig y Rhacca was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs, while a 22-year-old man from Newport also was arrested on suspicion of the same offence – as well as on suspicion of being involved in the supply of class B drugs.
DS Abbie Hackney, of Gwent Police, said: “Tackling drug supply, dismantling county lines and protecting the public from illegal drugs and associated crime is a priority for us.
“We carried out searches at five addresses across Caerphilly and Newport and removed what we believe to be class A and B drugs from the streets.
“Two men remain in police custody for questioning, and our investigation continues.”
