Gwent Police is appealing for information

Two men have been arrested after a collision in which a 20-year-old man died.

The incident happened on the A465 westbound, between Rhymney and Dowlais, at around 4.50am on Saturday May 31.

The 20-year-old, from Brynmawr, was pronounced dead at the scene after a quadbike was found overturned.

Gwent Police confirmed his family has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Officers believe that a second vehicle – a white BMW that was found burned out in the Dowlais area, may have been involved in the collision.

A 40-year-old man from Merthyr Tydfil was arrested on suspicion of murder, drink driving, and drug driving.

A 37-year-old man, also from Merthyr Tydfil, was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, and assisting an offender.

Anyone with any information can contact Gwent Police on 101 or through direct message on social media, quoting log reference 2500171434.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
