A host of festive events will be held across Caerphilly County Borough in the run-up to Christmas.

Caerphilly County Borough’s Christmas event schedule begins on Saturday November 8, when the first River of Light lantern-making workshop returns to the Twyn Community Centre in Caerphilly.

The event will be held between 10am and 5pm, and will also take place on Sunday November 9, Saturday November 15, and Sunday November 16.

Meanwhile, Ystrad Mynach’s Christmas Market will be held on November 15 between 9am and 5pm.

The following week, Caerphilly town centre will host a mini festive fair on Friday November 21 – when the town’s Christmas lights will be switched on. The day will also include the River of Light lantern parade and fireworks display.

The next day, Blackwood Christmas Market will return – with Caerphilly’s Christmas Market taking place the following Saturday on November 29.

The final event comes on Saturday December 6, when Bargoed hosts its Christmas Market, which will include the Music and Light Parade.

The Christmas period will also see the return of Caerphilly on Ice, which will be set up on Owain Glyndwr Playing Fields between November 20 and January 4.

More information on these events can be found on the Visit Caerphilly website.
