A proposal for 21 new homes in Oakdale has been given the final go-ahead after a deal was struck for affordable housing.
Life Property Group plans to build a mixture of houses, flats and wheelchair-accessible bungalows on land to the east of Oakdale Athletics Club.
Members of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s planning committee backed the project last November if 25% of the development would be classed as affordable.
New documents show five of the proposed homes – a pair of two-bedroom houses, a four-bedroom house, a three-bedroom bungalow and a two-bedroom bungalow – will be set aside for that purpose.
According to a draft copy of the deal, the homes will later be handed over to the council or a registered social landlord for their use as affordable housing.
Earlier in February, council planners also approved a separate application for the wider development site, allowing for a housing association to build and run six supported living apartments.
