More than 3,300 people visited Bargoed when the town held its May Fair earlier this month.

The event, held on Saturday May 9, saw more than 50 food, drink, and craft stalls set up in the town centre, along with activities such as donkey rides, bird of prey displays, face painting, funfair rides and more.

Replica vehicles from a range of iconic TV shows and films, including Disney Pixar’s Cars, Back to the Future, Postman Pat, Herbie, and more were also on display at the fair.

The event was organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council, and part-funded by Bargoed Town Council and the UK Government through its UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

It was the sixth event of the year in the council’s events programme, with events already held in Blackwood, Caerphilly, and Ystrad Mynach – drawing a combined 22,000 visitors to the borough.

Bargoed Summer Music Festival will be coming to the town on Saturday July 11 – but before that, Risca Beach FEASTival is being held on Saturday June 6 and Sunday June 7.

Caerphilly Food and Drink Festival attracts more than 7,000 visitors
