Llamau opens 24 hour women’s refuge in Caerphilly

South Wales charity Llamau has announced that one of its Caerphilly refuges will be staffed 24 hours a day from Monday June 27.

The charity said the 24 hour opening will allow extremely vulnerable women and children escaping domestic abuse to receive support around the clock. The decision follows the success of Llamau’s domestic abuse refuge in Merthyr which became the first women’s refuge in Wales to operate 24/7.

Frances Beecher, Llamau’s chief executive, said: “Following our merger with Caerphilly Women’s Aid, we made a commitment to Caerphilly County Borough Council to provide a 24 hour refuge for women fleeing domestic abuse. We are so pleased to be able to fulfil this promise and know this will make a real difference for women and children in crisis.”

    Good Morning
I have a large box of various toiletries and was wondering if they would be useful to distribute amongst some of the clients you would have using your service. I can arrange to drop them off to you is this would be something you would find useful
