This year's firework display raised almost £4,000 for charity.

Almost £4,000 was raised at this year’s Caerphilly Castle firework display.

More than 8,000 people packed out the town despite the terrible weather.

A grand total of £3,827.68 was raised for Caerphilly Town Council’s charities the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and St Cenydd School Special Educational Needs Department.

The firework display was the town’s 20th and coincided with the 25th anniversary of Cadw.

A special film by the historical organisation was projected on to the castle walls during Saturday night’s event.
