Pupils at Heolddu Comprehensive School are dancing to a samba beat after it set up its own “Samba School”.

Once a week, the corridors rock to the beat as pupils rehearse for their first public performance at the River of Light Parade in Caerphilly town centre on December 17.

Heateacher Phil Jones said: “Music is very much back on the agenda at Heolddu. There is an abundance of talent within the school and we are extremely grateful to be given the opportunity to host the Samba sessions.

“It is very much open-doors at the school and we will be delighted to welcome other young people from the borough to join in this creative project.”
