Caerphilly Business Forum blog: A successful summer

Once again the Forum has hit the ground running after the summer break.

And it needs to because we have a very busy period ahead of us with some important business breakfasts and other networking events culminating in our annual awards ceremony in November.

Of course, while most people took some time out over the summer, Caerphilly Business Forum was still out there, building upon past successes, recruiting new members and offering advice. And a very successfully few weeks we had too.

Particularly impressive was the response we had on our stand at The Big Cheese in Caerphilly.

Perhaps it was the fine weather that brought the crowds out that weekend but that can’t account for the number of small businesses and individuals which at times besieged us and kept our members busy from start to finish.

So let me first thank all our volunteers – the firm consensus is that it was hard work but very rewarding. And, most importantly, the feedback also shows that the entrepreneurial spirit is positively thriving in Caerphilly County Borough.

It could be that the hard times the whole country is going through are leading people to think about and develop their own ideas rather than pin their hopes on others to employ them.

Entrepreneurs have ideas and determination and are prepared to make bold decisions and to put the hard work in.

But they also need skills and help from other people and Caerphilly Business Forum can be a great source of help in this respect. Our members are diverse and experienced and can offer real expertise, advice and practical guidance.

You can network with them at any of our events and we’ll also be looking to hold other events specifically geared up to help new businesses get off the ground.

You’ll find the list of forthcoming events on our website but please … let us know what you want.
