News | Richard Gurner | Published: 09:50, Wednesday September 7th, 2011.

The Safer Caerphilly Volunteer Network is to hold a meeting on September 19.

The network, which has more than 200 volunteers, will meet with police and council officials to discuss ways to tackle antisocial behaviour in Caerphilly County Borough.

The event will at Caerphilly County Borough Council’s headquarters at Penallta House, from 5.45pm until 7.45pm.

The focus of the meeting will be on crime prevention initiatives.

There will also be special presentations on initiatives aimed at reducing the threat of doorstep crime by cold callers.

There will also be a presentation on the Online Watch Link (OWL).

Cllr Rob Gough, cabinet member for public protection said: “This dedicated group of volunteers continue to really help make a positive difference in our communities, and their local knowledge is invaluable in establishing key issues in their local areas.

“I would encourage anyone who is interested in finding out more, or who is interested in becoming a part of this ever increasing number of volunteers to come along.”

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Safer Caerphilly Volunteer Network, or to find out more, please contact Natalie Kenny on 01495 235 442.
