The deadline for entries to the 10th annual Caerphilly Business Forum Awards falls at the end of next week so we’re getting a steady flow of submissions. Inevitably, the vast majority arrive in the last few days.
But there’s a very welcome spin-off from the awards – our membership gets a timely boost.
You have to be a member to enter and that looming deadline seems to focus the attention of directors, managers and owners who, for whatever reasons, haven’t joined us yet.
Being a member also embeds you in one of the most vibrant business networks in Wales. Among the benefits, you’ll get free entry to our numerous seminars, presentations and business breakfasts on issues that businesses really want to know about.
For example, on September 21 we have an evening session with Wales Co-operative Centre offering advice on such matters as employee buy-outs and how forming consortia can give smaller businesses access to commercial tenders. And the business breakfast on October 19th sees HSJ Accountants advising on collecting bad debts. For full details visit www.cbforum.co.uk.
The cost of membership is designed to be no obstacle.
It’s just £50 including VAT a year for businesses up to two-years-old and £70 for more established businesses based in Caerphilly County Borough. Associate members from outside the county borough pay £90.
It’s worth it for the free breakfasts alone but you can also publish your news on our website, have a voice that is heard on both local and national issues and benefit from networking with neighbouring businesses of all different sizes and from all different sectors.
It’s easy to join the forum via our website. And from there it’s a simple step to our awards – just download the forms and enter as many categories as you wish. It may be the best £50 or £70 you’ve ever spent.
