A Caerphilly-based construction company is celebrating after receiving a grant boost to get the business off the ground.

Martyn Fear and Martin Beechey set up E and M Construction Services after being made redundant from their previous jobs.

The firm manufactures bespoke concrete products primarily for the construction industry and has set up a base at Pontygwyndy Industrial Estate in Caerphilly.

They have been awarded EU Funding through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), delivered through the Welsh Assembly Government, to provide grant funding to Businesses or business start-ups.

Eligible expenditure for the Local Investment Fund Grant includes:

The business must be a under 250 employees in the manufacturing, service to manufacturing, business-to-business service sector (minimum75% business to business) or tourism.

The scheme can fund up to 40% of eligible expenditure normally to a maximum of £5000
