Have your say on countryside access in Caerphilly County Borough

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 15:00, Saturday October 15th, 2011.

The Caerphilly Local Access Forum is looking for new members.

The forum is a statutory body, set up by Caerphilly County Borough Council, to advise the authority, the Welsh Government, the Countryside Council for Wales and others on public access to land.

Over the past nine years the forum has played a very active role in the designation of Open Access Land, the preparation and implementation of a Rights Of Way Improvement Plan for the county and the improvement of access in country parks and the wider countryside.

The forum can have up to 22 members and in the past members have included representatives of landowners and farmers; walking, horse riding, cycling and off road organisations as well as the general public, community councils, the less able and wildlife groups.

The council is seeking to appoint members for a new forum, which will have its first meeting in early December 2011. The closing date for applications to become a member is November 4 2011.

For application forms and further information on the Forum please contact Norman Liversuch, Secretary Caerphilly Local Access Forum on 01495 235312.
