Building services firm SCS Group, which is based in Tredomen, has opened a new office in central London to support its continuing growth

The company, one of the UK’s leading providers of ventilation, building management and smoke control solutions, will operate from contemporary, purpose-built offices located on Pall Mall, close to Piccadilly Circus underground and Charing Cross overground stations.

The SCS Group, which will still be headquartered in Caerphilly County Borough, has installed its systems in thousands of buildings nationwide.

Recent projects include the £1.5 billion Westfield Stratford City development, hailed as the gateway to the 2012 London Olympic Games and set to become the largest urban shopping centre in Europe when it opens in 2011.

Other notable projects include Crossharbour, a major development of 900 apartments in Canary Wharf and the London Transport Museum.

The firm, which recently scooped the prestigious Fire Protection Specialist of the year award, has a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Dorset and a national network of fully qualified project engineers. It specialises in designing integrated building services packages that simplify installation and can reduce costs by around a third.

Managing Director Allan Meek said: “Our new office is a major investment for us, and reflects our commitment to providing exceptional customer service to our clients, many of whom are located in and around London.

“We have seen a notable growth in business in the south east region and we are actively pursuing opportunities relating to the 2012 Olympics following our recent completion of the Stratford City retail development.

“We are seeing increased demand for integrated building management systems where everything from ventilation, air conditioning and under-floor heating to hot water and smoke control systems are controlled using the same system.

“Clients benefit from significant reductions in cost and installation time and in the current climate our ‘intelligent’ approach to building services solutions is increasingly attractive to the market.

“Having a permanent base in central London will allow us both to respond to clients’ needs and help us achieve our strategic plans for continued growth by identifying and capitalising on the many new opportunities available.”
