A business that began 11 years ago in offices above a travel agents has moved into new headquarters.

Draig Business Services Group, which began life as a recruitment agency, is set to announce a turnover of £2.9million.

It’s a far cry from the company’s first year, when it was known simply as Draig Personnel, with a turnover of £60,000.

Set up by husband and wife team Ross and Claire Porter, the business now boasts five divisions: Draig Personnel, Draig Training, Draig Design, Printing.Com@Draig and Draig Signs.

The couple re-mortgaged everything they owned to start Draig – Ross having decided to set up the firm after working for a recruitment agency many years ago.

Eleven years on and the company has moved from its from Bartlett Street office in Caerphilly into the Octagon office complex at Caerphilly Business Park.

It now employs more than 200 people – the majority of them based in Caerphilly.

Ross Porter, managing director of the Draig Business Services Group, said: “Despite the current economic climate, Draig is in a really exciting phase of its growth plans. We are continuing to build on our offering to businesses through our range of divisions, each dedicated to providing the very best solutions at cost effective rates.

“In addition to providing our talented team across the divisions, the new premises have provided our training division with a state of the art training facility which will allow it to develop on the excellent reputation it already has.

“When we began searching for new premises, it was important to find a location that was still easy to get to for both the clients and employees of Draig Personnel and our other divisions.

“The move has also allowed us a chance to design our offices to reflect the dynamic culture and thinking of the group and services we offer and I am pleased to say that everyone has settled in well to our new home.”
