Creative hair and beauty students at Coleg Gwent’s Crosskeys campus wowed their audience with intricate hairstyles, dramatic make-up and stylish design recently at the campus’s annual hair and beauty show.

The extravaganza, themed ‘Future Fantasy,’ featured a wide variety of futuristic interpretations characterised with bold hairstyles and vibrant make up.

The level three students, who are all in their final year of study, spent months preparing for last week’s big event which showcased their creative ability in hairdressing and was judged by industry professionals.

Live gents cutting put students’ talent under the spotlight whilst singers and dancers provided the audience with extra entertainment. Music students also helped the event run smoothly by providing a stage crew for the sound and lighting equipment.

Lecturer Tammy Wheeler said: “Students demonstrated the latest techniques in cutting and colouring on a purpose built catwalk

“They worked extremely hard preparing for the show and we were delighted to see all their efforts come together on the night.”
