Man arrested after motorbike and car collide near Brynmawr

A man has been arrested after a road accident yesterday.

Gwent Police is appealing for information to a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at about 1pm on Thursday June 3.

A car and a motorcycle were involved in the collision on the main road, King Street, between Ebbw Vale and Brynmawr.

Two men in a green Ford Fiesta involved in the accident were not injured.

The male rider of the motorcycle was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital with serious injuries. The woman pillion passenger of the motorcycle has died.

The driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of death by careless driving.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call Gwent Police on 101 or the collision investigation unit on 01633 642404.
