Free child car seat checks at Caerphilly town Asda

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 09:00, Monday June 21st, 2010.

Parents and carers can get their child car seats safety tested for free on Wednesday.

Experts from Caerphilly County Borough Council’s trading standards department will be on hand on Wednesday June 23 at the Pontygwindy Road Asda, in Caerphilly, from 9.30am to 4pm to offer advice and carry out the free safety test.

At a similar event recently 68% of seats checked were found to be incorrect, with over 23% having major faults.

The council’s Trading Standards and Licensing Manager, Jacqui Morgan, said: “This event is an excellent way of alerting local people about the lack of protection provided by badly fitted seats. I would urge parents to attend the session to ensure their children are safe and help prevent injuries resulting from accidents in the future.”

For further information, please contact our Trading Standards Department on 01495 235291.
